Poppy Mellor

Psychosexual and Relationship Psychotherapist

I work with individuals and couples who want to improve their relationships, reconnect emotionally or sexually, and move past difficulties that have left them feeling stuck. My focus includes issues such as differences in desire, loss of intimacy, sexless relationships, communication breakdown and rebuilding trust after an affair. I also support clients with a wide range of male and female sexual difficulties.

Alongside my psychosexual and relationship training, I am an accredited Relational Life Therapist (RLT). This approach is both compassionate and practical, helping people recognise unhelpful patterns, develop new skills, and create more fulfilling and resilient relationships.

My style is empathetic and straightforward. I work collaboratively, creating a safe and supportive space where underlying issues can be explored with honesty and curiosity. Therapy is an opportunity to understand yourself and your partner more deeply, and to take the next steps towards the kind of relationship you want.

I also draw on Brainspotting, a focused approach that uses eye position to help access and process underlying emotional experiences, supporting deeper therapeutic work where needed.

I have been in private practice since 2008 and also teach and supervise other therapists. Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked for ten years in banking and the media, which gave me valuable insight into the pressures and challenges people face in different areas of their lives.
